Cheltenham charity Cotswold RDA used Target 2020 grant funding to install roof insulation and LED lighting – saving as much money every year as they need to keep one of their horses!

Cotswold RDA is an independent charity affiliated to the national Riding for the Disabled Association. Based on the world-famous Cheltenham Racecourse, the charity works with in excess of 225 riders per week, supported by over 160 volunteers. All their riders have a wide range of physical, mental disabilities or learning difficulties which the charity is able to support.

As with every charity, keeping running costs down means more can be spent for the benefit of those who use their service. By utilising Target 2020 funding, the organisation were able to install ultra-efficient LED lighting and insulated the roof in the kitchen and toilets. The charity has seen annual financial savings from these changes that are the equivalent of the cost of keeping one of their horses fed and cared for all year long!
